Brrrrr! ❄️ That was a chilly one!

 (And an early one for the #LOOCREW)

 

The London Winter Run celebrated it’s 10th Anniversary this year. This race is always one of our absolute faves, and here’s why…

 

The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is a 10-kilometre dash through the heart of the city. With iconic landmarks and an electrifying vibe, this race kicks off our season in style.

Leaving LOO HQ way before the crack of dawn (3:30am on the 23rd of February), the #LOOCREW convoy heads to our start Line spot around Trafalgar Square. 🚐 We have to beat the road closures at 5am! ⏰

With a whopping 25,000 participants, LOOS FOR DOs supplies nearly 200 loos, all stocked with loo paper and hand sanitiser for those quick race pitstops, keeping queues short and everyone on the move 🚻🧻🧴

Our loos are only in position for as long as needed. So, our team hangs back while the runners do their thing (rumour has it that there’s always a cheeky traditional Winter Run brekkie while they wait!) By noon, the #LOOCREW is back on site, swiftly collecting all our kit before heading home. We stick to strict install and de-rig times to ensure no delays in reopening the roads. In fact, our loos were on their way back to HQ by 3pm, an hour ahead of schedule!

The London Winter Run is always our first big event of the year, a fantastic way to kick off the season. The #LOOCREW loves the atmosphere and the chance to work together, which can be rare during the busy summer season to follow!

 

It always helps to have fantastic organisers who provide all the info we need in advance and contacts at each location to ensure everything is just right. We hope to continue supporting this fabulous event for years to come!  🎉

When it comes to running a successful marathon, it’s not just about the miles—it’s about the smiles. And we know that nothing wipes that smile off faster than a lack of proper toilet facilities.

 

Farnborough Half Marathon, hosted by 209 Events, took place on the 9th of February 2025, at Farnborough Business Park.

 

This race attracts thousands of runners and spectators so it’s important that there enough loos in place to help ensure the days success. LOOS FOR DOs delivered a selection of single plastic Eco loos, accessible loos and urinals, ensuring that every runner’s pit stop was a pleasant one!

All loos are quality checked and deep cleaned before delivery to site, So, whether the runners were sprinting to the finish line or just making a quick dash, our facilities were there to keep them on track and in stride! 🏅

We also make sure that the placement of the loos is a top priority. It is important to consider where runners might need to stop, as well as keeping spectators well taken care of.

Winter in the UK can be as unpredictable as a runner’s playlist shuffle, and Farnborough saw a mix of rain, snow and the occasional bit of sunshine over the weekend. But we know that the weather doesn’t stop the runners, and so the #LOOCREW were prepared for anything.

As we near the end of 2024, we’ve taken a look back at the year.

In particular, our charity commitment.

 

In 2024, LOOS FOR DOs have donated £1,692.78 to charity. We feel immensely proud to be serving our local community and beyond in this way.

 

Here’s a couple of ways we’re supporting charities, both local and loo related!!

 

Raising awareness for Bowel Cancer:

In October 2023, we learnt that one of our customers had lost her husband to Bowel Cancer and from this, we learnt that Bowel Cancer is one of the most preventable cancers in the UK. If caught early enough, it is often curable. Early diagnosis can save your life.

In 2024, LOOS FOR DOs introduced a sticker inside each of our portable plastic toilets that has a QR code that takes you direct to the NHS website for the symptoms of Bowel Cancer.

We broke it down and worked out that in one year, our Eco loos are hired out over 7500 times across Surrey & Hampshire. This means, that if each loo is used to capacity, these stickers could potentially be seen by over half a million people each year!

 

Local Food Bank support:

Bordon Food Bank operates independently, is run entirely by volunteers and all the donations are made by local businesses, and the public. We learnt that this food bank supports an average of 130 families in need of a helping hand on a weekly basis! That’s an average of 520 packs per week and 6240 a year! That is a lot of supplies needed for a lot of people in need!

When most people think about Food Bank support, hygiene essentials are usually forgotten about, which is where LOOS FOR DOs comes in. LOOS FOR DOs have been making monthly deliveries for the duration of 2024. In total we have supplied 1,728 loo rolls so far and we’ll be continuing to do so for the foreseeable future.

 

Looking ahead, LOOS FOR DOs are excited to continue our charitable efforts and forge relationships within our community.

LOOS FOR DOs provided toilets for Battersea Park Fireworks on the 2nd and 3rd November 2024.

If you haven’t heard, this is one of the best firework shows to see in South London. Battersea Park Fireworks takes place over one explosive weekend and includes a funfair, street food and live performances! This also meant around 50,000 spectators that needed toilet hire provisions over the weekend.

 

Battersea Park Fireworks lit up the sky this past weekend, and the #LOOCREW were onsite with our fabulous loos. You might say we have a ‘flare’ for events like this!

LOOS FOR DOs have been working with Enable, the organisers behind this spectacular event since 2023. We provide the loo hire facilities within Battersea Park. We also provide the toilets for Battersea Park in Concert and Summer in Battersea!

Working closely with the coordinators, LOOCREW provided a selection of luxury toilet trailers and over 150 single plastic loos, including accessible facilities. These were positioned at various locations throughout Battersea Park to ensure that this enormous crowd could reach toilets when they needed them. We also needed to make sure the queues wouldn’t be too long as we couldn’t risk anyone missing out on the firework fun for too long!

                                     

If you were lucky enough to be at Battersea Park for this event, you also might have seen some of our team onsite. #LOOCREW worked away in the background, ensuring all the loos remained as sparkly as the fireworks!

Working with Enable in the lead up to the Fireworks show, LOOS FOR DOs were able to arrange a build and derig schedule to suit both parties. Access for the loos to be serviced each day was also determined well in adance. It’s great to have such hands on and knowledgeable organisers that we can work with to ensure their event goes off with a bang! Battersea Park is also a great venue, and #LOOCREW love being being part the extraordinary events that take place there.

The weather stayed dry (a rarity for UK Firework Shows) and what a night it was!
