Accessible loos for when you have guests requiring wheelchair accessible toilets or access to baby-changing facilities.
Our accessible facilities are built to optimism space, contain sturdy handrails, and the door width is suitable for wheelchair access. The responsibility to provide accessible facilities is super important in all aspects of your event, but with these loos, you’ll know that all your guests are well looked after. The general rule of thumb is to have a minimum of 1 accessible unit available per 2,000 people attending a public (ticketed) event. Private events do not legally require an accessible unit but should always be considered if you are aware of guests with specific needs. More information is available at www.direct.gov.uk
Key features of DDA (Disability Discrimination Act, now superseded by the Equality Act) compliant portable toilets include: increased interior space for manoeuvrability, non-slip floors, handrails, and a low-level threshold for easy access. Furthermore, the location and surrounding area must also be accessible, with a clear space outside the door and appropriate door furniture.
