LOOS FOR DOs WINS PRESTIGIOUS FESTIVAL SUPPLIER AWARDS FOR ‘BEST TOILET SUPPLIER’
Event toilets may be one of the most feared elements of any UK festival, but LOOS FOR DOs has proven once again that even if the facilities are temporary, festival toilets don’t have to be a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons.
In fact, many event organisers are now recognising the importance of providing more and higher quality toilets and showers – it is common place now to be able to pay to upgrade your ticket to use VIP luxury toilets and event washrooms for the day or over a weekend in a VIP camping site. Depending on the event and supplier(!) these will include ceramic sanitaryware, running water, basins, mirrors and vanity areas.
DDA Compliant Accessible toilets are a must and should be reserved for guests requiring these facilities and should be sited on firm, level ground (ideally on hard standing or with trackway) to allow for wheelchair access. The current Purple Guide recommends a ratio of 1:2000 for Accessible WCs, although in practice, we would recommend a greater number of units to our clients and we often work closely with our Clients during the planning stage to optimise the site plan in terms of the temporary toilets and waste management.
As so many festivals are family-friendly, it’s also really important to provide baby changing facilities. Again, a good toilet supplier will help with this and it can range from individual cubicles with baby changing units to fully kitted out marquees.
We would always recommend taking your own loo roll and hand sanitiser to a festival. Our team work tirelessly on site to make trip to the loo as pleasant as possible for everyone, but being prepared with your own supplies can make all the difference and definitely means you won’t be caught short!
